I understand where you are coming from, my dad always told me I get stuck in my head to easily asking too many questions and worrying about what to do instead of just "manning up and doing it" and personally I think he was right, I think it's better to do something slightly wrong and do it again than to not do it at all, and seem dumb, but even now I'll always be thinking about how I should do it than just taking the risk and just doing it and getting it over with.
