In about a month I will have accrued enough to buy a nice entry level fun, and I'll snag a Mossberg Patriot. That's the cheapest I have ever seen them. I'm pretty sure that's palmetto state armory. Reputable company, they mass produce decent stuff.

The top is a completed upper, it has all the parts the upper receiver is supposed to have. The bottom is a completed lower, it has all the parts the lower receiver is supposed to have. Once you put those together, the gun is finished.

You put them together by lining up the holes on the upper, with the holes/pins on the lower, you'll see how they fit together when you hold it in your hands, its absolutely intuitive. Then you push the pins in with your finger until they click into place. You're done then, until you take it apart to clean it.

That one needs a rear sight though.

When it came to building my AR I just followed a video and got to work while sitting on my bed with a towel to catch any spare lube. Granted the upper was already completed but I don't mind that, I know I'll eventually get to building one.
