You can't make this shit up.
Anyway, he's a miser and she's looking for Daddy Moneybags. She mentions his financial situation every other sentence. Probably likes "Brads" artsy-musician types, maybe figured (wishful thinking) he'd make it big enough in a band or something, eventually lost patience.
tl;dr: Nobody's fault really, they're better off without each other.

The idea of a shittest if you're super rich is good in theory, but any woman of worth is going to ask if you're stable, have a career at all, for there to be a future. Being a degenerate who farts around at home with a guitar isn't a solid future.
So really the dude fucked up in not having a reasonable cover story. Something very humble. Say he's a programmer or something, freelance copyeditor. Something boring, low paying but stable.
Then if she asked no questions and saw a future he'd know she wasn't there for the money, but she was still reasonable enough not to get together with some mysterious fuckwad who claims not to worry about money, while appearing broke.
