We've had a pension crisis for decades. Illinois ran a deficit because of the ludicrous pensions Shaniqua from the DMV gets. And they're constitutionally guatanteed.

I'm over 60 (dont want to specifiy further since licenses are listed and it would be obvious) year old structural engineer. Not the last time but the two projects before that in 200x and 199x in Chicago and we put in drawings for permits I got phone calls stating "we see you need a permit, if you were to give 1000$ to the Democrat group xyz we could greatly expedite the process".

In construction you would be told that you'd need to staff extra people who would effectively be ghost payroll and who you'd know in advance would do zero work. Gibs to unionized labor. Not sure if that's still done.
