Best service I've ever gotten in a fast food restaurant was from a retard. He was quick, enthusiastic, and friendly as all hell. He remembered people's names who came in often, and was a good dude who'd do what it would take to make sure you smiled.

A place with all downies would probably have some great service, and as long as the coffee is simple I don't see what the problem could be.

I would be they do. If you've ever seen someone with down syndrome working they're usually just very happy to have something to do. In this case it's a win for everyone involved, the downies have a place to work, make some money, and talk with people day to day so they won't feel lonely and the general public get a coffee shop that isn't Starbucks and is probably very entertaining to go to, even if they foul up the order.
