You do realize you can teach the bible without teaching theology? The bible is at the heart of thousands of years of historical and cultural importance. I'd argue a big part of the cultural problems today is due to the push to completely wipe out our "religious" past. Too much of western identity is tied to religion, and by wiping it out you get millenials and other generations who have no identity or roots in anything.
