Both are useful, that's why populations tend to have genes letting individuals specialize in both. You don't really need more training than being able to hump about 80 lbs. for 5 miles a day, for a week or so. It's unlikely in a survival situation you'd be doing anything more extreme than that. Focus on practical skills, basic fitness, not iron man style training; prepare your mind to survive on tiny amount, to go without. Mental toughness is king in survival.

If we're really getting down to it, muscular endurance over muscular strength. If/When war breaks out, it doesn't matter much if you can bench 600 over 650, but it matters a shit ton if you can go another mile or not before needing a break.

By that, I mean, train distance, and train it with carrying weight. No one really understands just how much shit most military groups have you carrying. There's a difference between jogging, and jogging with forty pounds or so on your back, with shit moving with you. Load up a backpack or something else, and get used to jogging like that.
