Why exactly does /pol/ choose not to believe in climate change/global warming?
>>
>It's hot in the summer
>HOLY SHIT GLOBAL WARMING WE'RE ALL DYING
kys
>>
>>131595512
where has this happened?
>>
>>131595512
Because if something is true you don't have to insulate it so completely with lies.

It does happen, it just isn't caused by humans.

Funnily enough, it's been unseasonably cold this summer in MN. Night is still in the 50s. Things are getting warmer, but It's certainly not doomsday and the effect seems to be milder winters, not hotter summers.
>>
do you honestly believe anything the media says at this point.

if the media stated climate change was a hoax, i'd actually start believing in it at this point
>>
>>131595789
Fake news
>>
>>131595512
The left doesn't really believe in it either, they just push it because it gives a great excuse for massive expansion of government control into our daily lives.
>>
>>131595512

I live in Manitoba. I pray about Greenland ice sheet melting faster every evening before meal.
>>
i dont think anyone actually denies climate change. where do you guys get this? is it just manufactured so you can belittle people? because nobody believes there is no climate change. you know you're dealing with a little kid when this technique is used.
>>
>>131595512
CO2 is essential for life but only 0.1% of the atmosphere. I am pro plants and I'd like it if they could fucking breathe. Life was seriously pretty close to ending from carbon starvation pre industrial revolution
>>
That guy is clearly a hipster
>>
Became a STEM major, realized how much science is just another religion and how easily people within it like to bullshit themselves and each other.
>>
I'm not even to the point of questioning global warming or even whether man has any impact.

The fact that the left's answer is to completely shut down industry and manufacturing of the west and send all manufacturing to China has me irked before I even get to the question of whether global warming is real.

China gives zero shits about the environment and pollutes ten times worse than any US company could ever dream. But the sky is falling, so we need to stop pushing the sky down, and CHINA needs to push the sky down harder. Because that makes sense...

if you think the intervals of 100 years is impressive you should see the 1,000 year intervals chart.

>choose not to believe in climate change/global warming
I believe that there's a lot of money involved so the information can't always be trusted because of human greed, humanity and their actions do contribute to affects in climate, the fact that everyone has to say yes and is not allowed to criticize or ask questions without bullying/consequences is what puts me on edge about this subject.
>>
>>131595512
If the solution is socialism and one world government, I'm not sure the problem is worth considering.
>>
>>131595902
What do you think happens when ice ages end? The earth doesn't have ice caps 100% of the time, it's part of a cycle lasting millions of years. We have no idea what carbon levels or the climate is like when they melt because there's no ice older than the last ice age to study. They would be melting now even if humans never existed.

Sure thing bucko.

It might be legit or not, whatever the case it won't be fixed by giving a % of your gdp to the UN.
>>
And this. My sister is one of those environmental extremists. She drives and flies more than anyone I know. Somehow, destroying the US economy and bringing about Communism is how you fix "global warming". Imagine that.
>>
>>131595962
>>131596128
yeah this too. it's too convenient for the left as a boogeyman to be real, almost. it's like iraq and the WMD

I want New Yorkers and Californians to drown t.b.h.
>>
I don't trust Californians.
>>
>>131595512
Because people who claim to believe in it still pollute basically as much as people who don't, if not more.
That leads me to believe they are full of shit.
>>
>>131596282
Those lands are still hilly. Well, NYC isn't, but Florida and Louisiana would be the first to drown, actually.

At 5am this morning it was 55 degrees.

At 10am this morning it was 65 degrees.

At 3pm it was 85 degrees.

If this trend continues ithe planet will be uninhabitable by Thursday.

Worth the watch. Weather Channel founder John Coleman spells it all out. There has been no significant warming in decades.

>A great scientist named Roger Revelle had Al Gore in his class at Harvard and the Global Warming campaign was born. Revelle tried to calm things down years later, but Gore said Revelle was senile and refused to debate. John Coleman documents the entire story and shows how our tax dollars are perpetuating the Global Warming alarmist campaign even though temperatures have not risen in years and years.

me too

>picked physics not out of interest, but in the desperate hope that maybe this could be the one field on earth where objectivity and merit trump the usual bullshit
>get all A's
>didn't schmooze enough
>dumbass schmoozer who literally had our classes dumbed down for him individually (since the department was so small) in effect devaluing and watering down the education I sold my future for, wins awards and shit because he got authority figures to like him.. his grades are barely passing
>SIAM just eat pizza and watch shitty movies, guest speaker physics PhD shills his book about how he 'proved' that god doesn't exist
>what a fucking asshole
>everyone loves him
>i have no future
>feels fuckingbad man
>>
>>131596189
Yeah, I know what an ice age is. To not see the obvious connection between human industry and the rise in CO2 and global temperature is blindness. Also, the Medieval Warm Period doesn't even come close to the climate we're getting today.
>>
>>131595512
it's not that people disagree with global warming exactly, it's that they disagree with the communist solutions proposed by liberals.
>the earth is dying tax corporations
sure, i'll bite, but how will taxes help?
>the money will go to paying for my environmental science degree
it sounds like you're just looking for free money again.
>CLIMATE DENIER

when every acceptable solution is full blown communism it's really hard to take the claims seriously. if you were really afraid of the planet dying you would be willing to compromise to save it, but you're not, which tells me deep down you don't believe it either.

the real question is, why should conservatives believe something liberals say when liberals obviously don't even believe it?
>>
>>131595512
Somewhere deep inside his mind, a flame like object burned continually. It was rage. It was hatred. A mysterious and terrifying urge to decimate anything filled with the despicable force known as life.
Ah, so this is what the Beasts carry. He now understood why they destroyed the world.
There were still people not yet slaughtered, things not yet smashed to smithereens. That very fact occupied the forefront of his mind as an unforgivable sin. They were nothing more than specks of filth on the great ashen mother earth. They could not be allowed to exist.
They needed to be cleansed.
>>
>>131595512
There is no actual data to support it. The projections have ALL been wrong. It's a scam for Al Gore to make millions trading carbon credits.
>>
>>131595512
>believe
this is single word is why.

if you can't prove it and have to rely on belief rather than facts it's no longer science.
>>
It's real, but it's extremely exaggerated.
>>
>>131595512
Climategate. Look it up, nigguh.
>>
>>131596247
Man made global warming is a kike conspiracy.
>>
You know, Energy Sec. Rick Perry actually had a good quote recently about carbon emissions, global warming, blah blah blah.

He said "The US already leads the world in lowering emissions...we've done this through innovation and technology, not signing onto agreements."

Cap and Trade, Carbon Taxes, and the rest are nothing more than a scam and won't fix shit. The environment will improve only through new technologies and innovations.
>>
>>131595512
Climate feedbacks are modeled wrong. All models have been inaccurate.

Even if it were true I wouldn't care. I get beachfront property and liberals get to drown.
>>
I believe that humans are affecting the climate which is also affected on much longer time scales and by the sun.

The problem with the Paris climate accord, it doesn't do America much good to be ruined economically to stop the average temperature from changing 5 degrees over decades. And meanwhile the Chinese and Indians might be going green on paper, the reality won't be green at all.
>>
>>131597555
Trips of truth. All I needed to hear.
>>
Climate fags explain this.

>Earth so hot the surface is liquid
>Earth so cold surface is ice

Both of those things are true and happened before humans has any semblance of technology.

Earth was capable of such wide temperature swings with literally ZERO human affect. How arrogant are you to think we can manipulate it now?
>>
Retarded fearmongering for money. Why do liberals not give a fuck about things that can actually be helped? Why not push for a cleaner ocean? Or help us stop these goddamned wild hogs? Liberals dont want to actually work or put their money where their mouth is they just want to tax the plebs
