It's not gonna happen though to be honest.

People need to seriously stop worrying about overpopulation. India is already turning the corner on birth rates, and while china did so artificially, India is rapidly dropping to a replacement only birthrate of 2.1. As medical technology improves and space becomes limited, humans actually quite naturally (even without the use of birth control) start to plan smaller families. Economics makes it nearly impossible to breed without consiquence.

What people don't realize is that in areas with high birthrates still also have high mortality rates, which prevent many offspring from making it. Africa is still filling out population. Disease and starvation however are regular occurrences so high birth rates are needed to compensate for the mortality. I doubt that this will change unless they attack the problems that cause the high mortality rates more aggressively. If they do, Africa too will stabilize in population. Best estimates suggest that no more than 10 billion people will ever live on the earth at the same time, barring some massive innovation in technology that reduces the cost of living to unheard of lows (this is possible, but not likely in the next few generations. Perhaps fusion power?)
