I think it was a result of two things:

1.Laci Green didn't come into feminism when it was a mean-spirited cult. It seemed like she was gonna make the jump judging by her response to the 2016 Presidential Election. However, she doesn't seem to be the kind of person who holds onto anger as well as her "comrades" do.

2. Chris Ray Gun. He's a tiny Puerto Ricanan, but I can tell he's the kind of guy who could charm a woman to death. It's easy to imagine their first personal encounter. He most likely made her laugh and feel welcome. Probably sprinkled some flirtation and compliments. Outside politics, I can't see him as a guy who'd make many enemies. Even if it didn't lead to a relationship, I'm sure Green's time with RG still would have left a good lasting impression on her on her political and ideological opposition. Not everybody in "right of their left" politics is an eternally bitter, pompous jackass, especially the public speakers who get lambasted with hate for the most trivial things.

We'll have to wait and see how genuine her willingness to listen and possibly is. Despite that, it's not hard to think where she may be coming from.
