Only the Old Testament really puts the Jews in any power.
The New Testament explicitly states and shows how the Jews absolutely loathed Jesus, and that with the coming of Christ they were no longer the 'chosen people', anyone who accepted Christ would be considered God's children.

Hell, there's even verses in revelations that refer to a 'Synagogue of Satan', which is important when you take note that synagogues are exclusively Jewish.
