Nah. He was pretty strongly against Hitler AND expansionist/Empire building, because he believed it was bringing too many problems with it in the modern age. He wanted to essentially stop Hitler from going Westward, and he wanted to fold England up and cut it off from everyone elses bullshit after the War was settled.

He also had a point similar to something Millenial Woes has been harping on about (I guess he probably got it from Powell).

Powell was happy to reduce the size of the British military and remove nuclear weapons.

His reasoning was that a Britain conquered by communism would still be a British country because it would be home to British people. But one destroyed by nuclear war would leave no British people.

He was, as they said, a "racialist". He believed that above all the ethnic British people were the number one priority.

It was why, despite being a Right Winger, he was so involved with the unions and miners. He saw globalism as destroying the British way of life, and even if it meant adopting socialist policies, he would do what it took to ensure British people didn't suffer. It was the big dividing point he had with his protege Thatcher.
