Is the 1400 Nissan (bakkie) adequate in converting to a military style vehicle for an un-mobalised urban citizen?

I am a poorfag, so I want to make a sensible purchase of a vehicle should conflict break out in ZAR. But I don't want a 4x4 Jeep style vehicle as civilian. R100 000 is my absolute limit.

1400 is super tough, economical and maintainable. Maybe not for off road terrain that much, but may be able to serve as a support vehicle. What is your take?

Any alternatives or possible modifications I can look at?

I watched the natives burn down our historic sandstone city hall (Bloemfontein) four days ago. Coupled with the violence I have witnessed this past year alone, I am fully aware of the possible future awaiting us.
