Yes, but they ain't going to. Shit, in places like Canada the market is literally designed to attract foreign "investment." They see it as make work program intended to correct for lack of domestic funding in the construction sector. Sure, only 5% of sales are to foreign buyers, or whatever bullshit statistic they are currently throwing around; but that's still millions, if not trillions, of dollars coming into Canada each year.

These types of loop wholes of literally globalist money transfers. They keep them open as a means of repaying the figurative debt created by free trade agreements. Of course the west can't compete with china for labour costs, and the western leaders knew this. However, their goal was to make millions of chinamen rich and then take their money from them by selling them shitty condos in "nice" neighbourhoods. The same is true for other countries as well.
