Throughout history, there have been countless classes of people who are utterly ruthless to their fellow man. That being said, if there were to be another group as organized and determined as the Nazis were, how do you think it would play out in today's age? What would be required to happen for a first world country to become something like this? We laugh about how Britain is living in a fascist state due to them being arrested for thinking or saying the wrong thing, but their leaders are buffoons. Germany's leader is a buffoon. Canada's leader is a buffoon. And, yes, Trump is a buffoon. Of course, it's memed that he's playing 4D chess, and even if he is, how one is perceived by the enemy is vitally important.
So, I ask, how would this play out in either modern day or the near future?

Inverted totalitatianism*
There don't need to be totalitarians anymore. They have already worked out how to use the media to subvert the masses within the current system to achieve their goals. Democracy is based on the free will of the voter. "Free will" depends on reliable information. If that information is manipulated, the will of the voter is not free, democracy is an illusion. We are all unwilling subjects of the totalitarians who own the information.

1st world used to mean countries where a relatively well off middle class was the majority. That's no longer the case for most countries. Wealth disparity is getting larger every year and no one is allowed to say anything because right-wing cucks bend themselves over backwards to prove they're not commies while left-wing cucks say class and wealth doesn't matter, race and gender does.

Information is available more freely than at any time in human history. 30 years ago you got all your news from the media and that was that.
First world literally means NATO
Second world Warsaw Pact
Third world unaligned countries
But use it however you like
Most people don't know what it means, and it does allude to the most developed countries
