Serious question re. life /pol/
Do you think it's possible to change your life trajectory?
In my own life I've had these occasional moments where I managed to achieve what I personally thought would be very difficult or just seemed like a dream. But then the monotony continues.
One thing that sticks with me is all the emotional baggage I have accumulated from a semi-shitty upbringing. I desperately want to let it go - but the more I go into autopilot in day to day life, I see the same issues that affected my parents coming out in myself.
TL;DR - Is trauma and problems passed down through generations, or can we change the trajectory of our future generations?

no, change like that implies some sort of powerful agency we as people don't have
like you noted, the amount of genetic, psychological and cultural baggage we own makes it almost impossible
life is cyclical, life is shitty and we can't do really much about it
call me a cynic, at least im honest

That's pretty much the conclusion I'm trying to not face, but is sadly the likely truth.

do take it with a grain of salt tho
im trying to run away from some harsh conclusions about my life myself, lets say deadly conclusions
so at worst we both don't know a lot yet and at best i might be just a bit biased towards the darker side of things

If I tried to do this a dock spider the size of my hand would probably crawl up my back or something

Its all in your Will to srmtrive for greatness, never quit until death.

The issue is you expect some outside force to be the grand change in your life, demeanor or monotony. This can only come from internally because it is the way you view the experiences you have in the world. It is the only thing that matters because, for the most part, it's the only thing you can control.
As far as your question, trauma most likely not but then again we have certain biological fears built into our DNA. So that'd need research I suppose. Problems we most certainly pass those on to future generations either deliberately because we're greedy or simply not thinking long term enough.

Just attend a few services at your local church, hearing a good message among good people can do wonders.
