Was the French Revolution the worst thing to ever happen to the west?

Arguably, but it only led the ideas of British wigs to logical extreme. I would say, that the beginning of the end was British civil war. When state isn't literal property of single sovereign, the authorities has no business in caring for its future,

He's right though.
French Revolution was orchestrated by free-mason cancer with some "oriental" inspiration bullshit. It's pure cancer, pure satanism.
>>131148633
Do traditionalist larping faggots even know that their acestors probably benefited from egalitarianism? It's not like /pol/ is made up from descendants from aristocracy, your ancestors were probably toiling illiterate serfs back then, not kangz.
It is the liberal concept of equality that has elevated the masses to middle class positions and gave plebs citizens rights.
In a traditional society you plebs would be probably toiling under a serf.

yes but the revolution was carried out by a revolutionary class made up by capitalist merchants who destroyed the feudal order by pandering to the lower classes.
Evola worshiping faggots will never get that he despised capitalism precisely because it enabled plebs to climb the social ladder.

Also serfdom had been decreasing in the west of Europe for some time before the french revolution.

Yes. Taking out France should be considered one of Hitler's greatest deeds and the restoration of France one of America's greatest crimes.

>Promoted liberalism and egalitarianism
Those concepts were different back then, liberalism was essentially capitalism. The reformation also allowed secularism to eventually develop which is one of the best concepts of western government. Our society is slipping not because of liberalism or egalitarianism but because we don't embrace secularism anymore. We allow muslims and shit to come to our country breaking laws under the guise of their religion, which is the worst thing we can do.
Banning burkas for example should see no backlash in a secular community, if you can't enter a store with a motorbike helmet than you can't walk around with a burka. Don't get me wrong, the french revolution was bad but because it was pointless. Most of the good that happened were things like Napoleon's laws, which would likely have happened anyway.

Wow, that sounds terrible. Oh wait, you guys *like* hierarchy and authority, because you're all a bunch of spineless fucking bootlickers and sycophants.
The French destroyed churches and castles throughout the Low Countries, such as in Liège, Bruges, Antwerp and my own village. They stole our bread and soliers, So yes, for us it was a bad thing.

>permanently denigrated hierarchy and authority
No, it permanently denigrated the Church and aristocracy though.
The French Revolution is not really hard to understand politically: the french kings progressively concentrated the powers in their hands during the XVIIth to create what we call absolutism, the ones who suffered the most from it were the nobles who went from a warrior aristocracy (strong, with an independant power) to a bunch of sycophants living in the court basically sponging off society, in the meantime the bourgeoisie (merchants, industrials, bureaucrats, bankers, etc...) progressively filled the powergap let by nobles in society.
So after 1750 you had a powerful bourgeoisie whose strength came from economy and a weak aristocracy which was still socially over them and which entire relevance came from the king and their special rights, the bourgeoisie became increasingly disgruntled by this and reclaimed its faire share of representation, Louis XVI gave them the perfect opportunity during les "Etats généraux" of 1789 when the church and the aristocrats told them to fuck off and it ended in a revolt where the bourgeois made a coup on the aristocrats and the clergy.
>promoted liberalism
USA and UK did it first but it's right it fertilized it over Europe (= the world) after the FR, liberalism is an anglo-french doctrine after all.
>egalitarianism
No, egalitarianism came with marxism, it's a XIXth century idea, not a XVIIIth one.
Gave the Jews citizen rights and let them in Government, pretty much downhill ever since

And of course you Americans are all free actors who can do anything out of their individual desire. No, wait, you're obedient servants to an oligarchy that sells you a lie that one man, one vote makes you all equals.
There's always going to be hierarchy and authority. If you believe in egalitarianism, you're one of the serfs whether or not you know it or not.

>Our society is slipping not because of liberalism or egalitarianism but because we don't embrace secularism anymore
Secularism relies on nothing but the suppression of christianism.
Most of the secularism in France was made to steal the goods and missions of the Church because they sided with the aristocracy instead of the bourgeoisie, same thing in USSR btw.
If France was still a christian nation like the ones it is we would not have burkas because Islam would not be tolerated in the first place and something like Vatican II would have never happened, I don't even speak about the effect it had on moral of population.
We didn't need secularism, we already had the separation of the temporal and the spiritual power in the West since Clovis was baptized 1500 years ago and it worked well.

>>131153717
The Empire was really glorious.
In fact if Napoleon had won chances are we would all live under a constitutionnal monarchy and enlightened despotism would have been considered the logic result of Enlightment and not democratic republicanism (which is basically banker rule).

France is a shithole because we exactly follow the heritage of the jacobins.
>Even the little shit like them moving the statue of Lafayette.
Lafayette was a too weak symbol.
If there is something representing France very well since 220 years in the hand of freemasonry, it's this pyramid.

All secular movements are tied to Jews who want to destroy Christianity. They pushed BCE/CE, they won't use the + sign in their schools or mathematics. There countless other examples as all religions but Christianity are tolerated in 'secular' societies.
