But libertarianism only works in societies homogeneous enough and with small enough functional groups that people can actually trust one another. In a larger society, nationalism is required to make the society continue to function, you can't really be a nationalist and support open borders.

Friendly reminder it is not the right of immigrants to live where they want on a whim. They can live where they choose so long as the residents of that area are also accepting of it. If they decline for any reason to have that person live there, that is their right to exercise and the attempted immigrant must accept the choice.

Your logic of "You can't be a Libertarian unless you support open borders" is as brainless as if I were to say "Well if you support open borders you are no longer allowed to close or lock the doors to your house." Surely if you're cool with inviting them into the country, you're fine with allowing them to share your residence, run up your living expenses, take your resources, etc.
