it has been a long journey but I remember finding an old book in the school library about colonial settlers, and it contained an account from a woman who's family had been captured by natives and they killed all the men and smashed a baby's brains out on a tree because it was too small to walk

I think I remember that distinctly because it was my introduction to there being more to the story whenever you hear something. I remember my already inculcated brain trying to tell me they deserved it for being in the wrong land and I think it was the really deep, almost physical rejection of that idea that laid the foundation

I've grown up in a quit redpilled family. My grandfathers always told me stories about the war and i read a lot of books. Started to drwa swastikas on paper planes in kindergarden because all the pictures of ww2 planes had them on. Didnt see what was wrong with that.

The first thing that 'redpilled' is probably seeing how extremely different and braindead 2 mulattoes I grew up near was compared to Norwegian kids.
Second thing that made me question the narrative strangely enough was playing a video game called Wolfenstein Enemy Territory. Nazis weren't stereotyped, they were neutral and reminded me of myself both in looks and character. Almost everyone I knew played that game and we always made nazi jokes.
What really redpilled me though was how biased the media is towards Muslims, and growing up with 4chan of course.

I felt something was off about my mothers Marxism, so I went to the public library and found myself a few books on Marxism, the soviet union, then an old dude led me to some books on ww2 Germany, the librarians face was priceless when I went to get the books out, I was only like 10 at the time, and I was getting out history books. To be completely honest, reading my grandpa's diary was one of the most liberating experiences I have ever had in my entire life. After I graduated high-school I managed to convince my mother to print his diary in a book-format.

Growing up and seeing how the "Elie Wiesel National Institute for Studying the Holocaust" effectively changed our history and blamed most of your soldiers and officers for an imaginary Holocaust and whatnot truly opened my eyes about the lies that have been told and are still being told about WW2. Honoring our intellectual elite that was wiped out by the commies in gulags or "re-education camps" is now illegal - as they are labeled as fascists; honoring our Generals and Officers that gave their life on the Eastern Front is "controversial" etc.

Yep, he died in 1999, before the Elie Wiesel National Institute cucked us beyond belief - therefor, he received a full military burial, with many of his former war-buddies attending the ceremony (most of them former King's Guard Order recipients - "Ordinul Mihai Viteazul"). I can still remember that day and it will stay with me forever. They had canons firing for him, some of his old mates did the roman salute...

I was an edgy Communist who read the Manifesto and Capital. I hated everything about Capitalism and traditional lifestyles and relationships. I graduated high school and wanted to "help the world" by doing AmeriCorps in New York City. Fuck being progressive, after my service year when I went back to my home state, moved to the rural part of it, and now my Chevy Blazer has "Don't tread on me" and Ron Paul 2008 campaign stickers on it. In New York, people were so smug about their leftism and were elitist in a way about it. Turns out mommy and daddy paid for them to spend their service year in Stuyvesant Town or Williamsburg while the rest of us got shitty studios in the Bronx or Harlem. They were the "experts" on social justice and would educate anyone extensively if they dared question them. It seems as though that as I have grown up, the Democrats have been getting less liberal and more authoritarian and I still hate the fact that I am siding with the GOP on so many issues, but I'm a registered Libertarian.

May God bless your uncle, anon. I've met a couple of "Ordinul Mihai Viteazu" recipients and most of them are outstanding individuals, from bone to marrow. The horrors that they have witnessed during the war and its aftermath really puts life into a totally different perspective - and the fact that they essentially got sold out by the King for the commies is truly heartbreaking.

Thank you anon! I truly recommend the book for any passionate reader that wants to know the real things that happened during the war. My grandpa details his Eastern Front operations (he fought up until Odessa, where he was injured by a shrapnel while coordinating artillery fire); his relocation to Bucharest for medical treatment up until late 1942; his relocation to the Propaganda Arm of the Romanian Army (where he was teaching young kids about nationalism-populism, similar to what the Germans were doing with the Hitler Youth); his relocation to Germany for Nationalist-Socialist classes in 1943; the betrayal of the King and how he was forced to fight against his German friends, alongside the Russians; the end of the war and how he was imprisoned to 12 years of prison by the Commies for fighting on the Eastern Front against the Russians.

Fun fact: you'll have a couple of chapters detailing a few "experiences" with Jews in Basarabia and how they violently acted against the Romanian army, prior to the Russian invasion of Basarabia. It really is a must-read for any history-geek.

Oh man this reminds me so much of talking with my great grandpa. I was maybe 10 when he passed away, barely even grasped the concept of wars at that point. But I remember him saying that sure he despiced them, but he never hated the Russians and he didnt want to kill them if it werent for them invading his country.

My grandpa often tells me that already during the war, Finns knew that Russia was ruled by jews and so on. They didnt fully embrace the Third reich, but found a good friend there during the war.

He also always hated what the world had turned into since Axis powers lost the war
