Fun fact: That top tax rate was mostly symbolic because at the time there was literally (and I mean L I T E R A L L Y) only 1 American who made enough money to be in it: John D. Rockefeller
>>130903943
It was a corporate tax rate, imbecile.

so what's the corporate tax rate now?
>>130905178
There's no need to get testy, I was obviously referring to the top income tax bracket at the time.
>>130905178
That is the stupidest economic reasoning I have ever seen.

I'm lost, so somebody correct me where I'm wrong.
>I have two choices. Either way, I lose most my money back
>Choice 1: Spend money to expand, work more, and go through sleepless nights coordinating complex business transactions to get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for my hard work. After all is said and done, I get 1% of my cash back, as I spent 90% of my money on expanding, leaving me with 10%, but government took 90% of my cash as taxes
>Choice 2: Give the money to Uncle Sam, but I keep 10%, leaving me with time for hookers and blow

You're not wrong, but whoever posted that pic is an economically illiterate cunt. Here's how it works:
1.) You need to make profits to expand. Building a new factory or buying new equipment is not a business expense and is not deducted from revenue to equal profit.
2.) Expanding business into what? A business expands in search of new profitable opportunities which means you have to find more customers. If there are not enough customers to justify expansion under normal circumstances, forcing a company to expand in order to avoid taxes just means throwing away scarce resources for the sake of avoiding a tax which is unproductive and does not make an economy grow.
3.) It does not drive wealth into lower tax brackets because wealth is being destroyed, not created. Besides, if companies wanted to avoid that tax, then they can just pay themselves big bonuses as wages which are deducted from revenue.
4.) You cannot "hoard" money unless you put it under a mattress, in which case you are losing money and only an idiot does that.
5.) No it's not communism, it is socialism.
6.) Whoever put that nigger tier pic together forgot one thing: people can always vote with their feet and leave.

Fuck taxes, the government spend trillions on anti-white programs and pointless wars

Neoclassical economists have been running the show recently, not keynsians.
But the problem has more to do with private debt levels and monetary policy than taxation and fiscal policy in general.
