Why don't conservative parties consider legalizing weed?

Why don't conservative parties consider legalizing weed? There are many people who smoke weed or are pro-legalization despite not smoking and are conservative at the same time, and they vote for lib parties for the sake of legalization of weed. Despite /pol/'s view, there is no connection between smoking weed and degeneracy (let's assume for the sake of conversation that smoking weed is not degeneracy itself, please don't derail the thread with that), I mean, I smoked weed for 4 years and converted from lib semi-degenerate to a conservatist somewhere during the second year despite of already smoking everyday. I also have friends who smoke(d) weed and are anti-degeneracy.

Why the fuck not? It seems to me like an easy way to get more votes at no actual cost.

Weed is a terrible drug that makes men effeminate, lazy, complacent, stupid and may even make them gay. Weed should never be legalized, if it was up to me the DEA would put a jackboot on the throats of these fucking potheads and make dealing weed a capital offence
>>
>>130811014
>effeminate
I don't have any experiences and don't know any sources which would support that claim. On the contrary, I progressed from literal omega to beta while I was smoking weed (though it was not weed that pushed me to work on self-improvement, it was shrooms).
>lazy
True in heavy use, but weed is not highly addictive psychologically and is not addictive physically at all, as opposed to alcohol, which is legal and a lot of men who work hard as fuck (construction workers for example) consume excessive amounts of alcohol.
>complacent
1. only when high
2. so does alcohol
3. that is the point.
>stupid
Well, it is scientifically confirmed that smoking weed *in excess* *may* cause *slight* drop in IQ, but I wouldn't call that making someone stupid. I'm pretty sure a lot of people who are less inteligent than both you and me are wiser than you and me.
>may even make them gay
1. sauce
2. What can make you gay is porn and I bet you watch it

What about legalizing possession, but not distribution? Accessibility still would be limited, but decent people would not go to jail for having some laughable amounts of weed.

What is the point of jailing people for something so trivial as possession of weed? The only effect is that they have to be provided for by the taxpayers and cease to contribute anything to society for the time they spent in jail.

trump will run on this 2020, then the dem cuck will respond in kind and still lose.

>Trump
>pro weed

Doubt it. Or did he say he is? I'm not aware of that
>>
Pharma and alcohol = $$$$
>>
>>130815322
Weed = additional $$$$

Another reason to legalize (assuming that you'd legalize distribution, not just possession). Tax it and count money, instead of losing it on pointless cat and mouse with dealers and upkeeping of people jailed

You misunderstand. People can grow their own weed very easily. Weed is great for jobs but the profit margins for the people up top are too low. Low profit margins for ppl at the top = no lobbyist money to spend.
>>
>>130817018
Alcohol is also relatively easy to make. In fact, I would rather make alcohol than grow weed, costs less and it seems easier to me.

I agree on the lobbyism part tho.

because the negative impact legal marijuana will have on society vastly outweighs any potential benefit you degenerate pile of human trash

It's because of pharmaceutical lobby influence. Ask yourself if you really care if your fellow anon smokes weed. I don't know why people on this board scream "muh degenerate" about something that has absolutely nothing to do with them. Don't let shills on here convince you of anything different. If weed were legalized it would seriously impact pharmaceutical sales, and the entire industry would take a hit. This, coupled with fact Pharmaceutical/Healthcare industry is the largest in the US by far might explain why so many people on this board shill against a borderline harmless plant that has more benefits than health impacts.

social liberals are already on the rise in the GOP simply because their outdated policies only appeal to middle american puritans and rednecks
>>
>>130817829
Sourced examples where that happened, please?
>>130818272
>Ask yourself if you really care if your fellow anon smokes weed.
Nah, I don't smoke anymore, but I don't look down upon those who do unless they are degenerate.

>If weed were legalized it would seriously impact pharmaceutical sales, and the entire industry would take a hit.
How tho? Do people use some legal pharma as a replacement?
>>
>>130810519
>and they vote for lib parties for the sake of legalization of weed.
So they vote against everything they believe in just because muh weed? Wew, talk about being addicted
>>
>>130818987
Some people don't bother themselves with politics, you know, they just want weed legalized because they don't feel like anything else that a conservative party could potentially improve or change concerns their personal lifes. Especially in countries not destroyed by liberals people might think that during one term a liberal party probably won't cause sudden destruction of society like in France or Germany, this shit requires time.

I don't defend this, it's retarded, but I think you can see that in countries where liberalism is not widespread and did not cause much damage so far, people may think that not much bad can happen.
