Is accepting that the status quo usually wins in the end more a sign a maturity or more a sign of being a quitter? I'm sure it's both but, I'm also sure it's more one than the other.
By accepting I mean the realization that there are some things that aren't worth putting your energy into because, no matter how you kick & punch & screaming, the tidal wave will crush you.
(I believe the status quo winning applies to both of the political extremes, by the way. We won't see a return to proper nationalism ever again (in any of the big countries anyway) but, the hard leftists are also wasting a lot of energy thinking they'll ever get their communist or socialist utopias proper)
