well most economies are today are tied to one another, China earns mostly from American market etc. so of course it will become problem if our partners fold. but India is still pretty protectionate, and mostly earns/sells in its own market. we were among least affected in 2008 for example. As for farmers, yes if there are problems like that suicide among them increases, but government provides them loads of benefits like loan waivers etc. its not rosy, but its better than it was before, and is getting better slowly.
