What you're saying is that there is no recorded instance of any building collapsing in on itself from the top down like that in history, EVER.

Many buildings have been blown up from the inside out by gas leaks, or hit by missiles or meteors or whatever.
But none of them ever collapsed neatly from the top down seemingly offering no resistance at all.

The genius in Minoru Yamasaki's design was that the outer wall of the building was both the curtain wall AND the framework holding the building up, this was done to maximize leasable floor space.
