Before no-fault divorce both husband and wife would reap a punishment for cheating. The husband would be forced to pay alimony to the wife if he was caught cheating, while the wife would not receive alimony if she was caught cheating. With the advent of no-fault divorce it doesn't matter if the wife cheated, she still gets alimony.
