Thats the point. Not showing off with one's culture is pretty German.
The public discourse however is a lot about the culture of Muslims, their religious rules for eating and dressing, the role of men and women, even crime rates, so on.
That's why I would have expected that many German Muslims participate the march. To make clear that while they are practicing their culture, they are still part of the German society.
