Its is true, that, to a degree, Karl Marx understood that capitalism was an evil.
What he failed to understand was the precedence nation takes over class; people are more bound by nation than class. He imagined a world united by the worker, which will never come to be.
Communism was a totalitarian, and ultimately inefficient system, because it used an economy constrained by ideology, rather then reality. A nation must be dynamic in their economy if they wish to survive for any measurable length of time.
