I would like to mention that I am more of spiritual person and studied theology and philosophy extensively in college ( didn't get a meme degree though) and began shifting a bit more towards those type of thoughts. Islam is different when it comes to the afterlife, they live to the point that they never do actually live. Some advice, though you sound pretty level headed anyway, when you are on your own you should try to stick as close to how you usually behave/live as possible (minus Islam etc.) for even the first year or two. The agoraphobia and culture shock of freedom can cause some serious doubt, anxiety, and depression which might lead you back home.

Also, I know you want freedom and to try new things but you really REALLY (I can't say this enough) must pace yourself.
