why are people rewarded for this kind of bullshit? this is why our society is going to shit
>be me, uni student, a year ago
>get in minor rear-end collision (first accident ever)
>wasn't fast, my compact at <20mph hits this woman's stationary SUV, busts my headlight and slightly dents her bumper
>get out of car, try to talk/exchange insurance
>woman won't talk to me, calls emergency services and an ambulance
>witnesses and even police told me she looked like she was faking injury for gibs
>fast forward to just recently
>woman shopped across several doctors until one finally said she might have whiplash
>immediately she sues because of "lifetime disability"
>insurance covers me but then drops me as a result
she made up an obvious fake injury from probably the most minor accident ever, and society rewards her. i know i was at fault for the collision but i am dead certain i caused no injury - there's no way at that speed and my smaller car she even felt it besides a small push
how do we, as a society, fix this form of legal gibs?
