Socialism is awful. Estonia was on par with Finland and predicted to surpass their economy, but under socialism, we regressed to a level of 3rd world country. The bread lines was not a meme, but a reality. Every piece of commodity you had to stand in line for and sometimes you don't even get it by the time you get to the seller. People were demoralized and drunk on the clock a lot. Our only amusement was secretly emulating american pop culture like disco dance, music videos or american movies we saw from finnish TV using bootleg antennas, because soviet TV was full of boring speeches and propaganda war movies.

"non-Marxist socialism" is a meme ideology that's impossible to sustain on a large scale. The only time anyone got close was Nazi Germany and it would have torn itself apart once it could no longer conquer countries that produced more resources than they cost to occupy

Well the meme is kinda true considering there can't be *true* communism. There can't be true communism because it's simply not possible. Even the communism closest to the theoretical communism ie. Leninism (which I would consider the true -or at least as true as possible- communism) wasn't very clear about the goals and how the whole shit was supposed to work.

Commies literally using their anti-scientific Marxist "it just werks!" magic logic on agriculture, which then lead to millions of deaths. Similar shit can be see on today's SJWs logic and them attempting to change physical reality that doesn't fit in their narrative.

You are right, "true communism" hasn't been tried because there is no *true communism* because it simply is not possible in real life. This means anybody enabling communism is an idiot and/or genocidal maniac.

Communism is like anarchism in that it has been tried and existed countless times, it just only last for a very brief period due to it's nature. They are completely unsustainable, and worse, they leave absolutely nothing in place to prevent transition to another government type.

The goal of communism is to remove every hardship, thus every possible motivator for work. Hopefully now you see why this does not last. The soviet union was not failed communism, it was a legitimate attempt to keep communism going. They injected artificial motivation via punishment for failed labor, and even resorted to international trade, something supposed to be entirely unnecessary under communism. The idea that the soviets were sabotaged by sanctions is crazy, given that they should have never needed international trade by their own theories.

Imagine why you go to work in the first place, any and every reason. Now remove those, for everyone. No wonder they starved.

Basically, its a dumb idea.

It's not that it has never been tried, it's that you cannot have communism without corruption and military.

Corruption is a consequence of centrally planned economies. And militarization is a consequence of deflection and trying to create enemies to explain economic failures.
