I can't wait, I really don't like human bodies

I seriously doubt civilization will make it to such technological heights.

Now that western culture is dead.

I personally believe that genetic modification pre-birth is an absolute must. There's no point in not being the smartest, most athletic and hard working we can possibly be.

We're still very far away from knowing what genes do what, but I think we hold ourselves back by not being the best we can be.

As for mechanical augmentation, idk. At some point you stop being human and start being machine.

A few discussion points:

Is there a limit, or a personal limit you believe will be imposed or hope for? Is the end goal the transhumanist singular consciousness, or merely complete biological augmentation?

Will voluntary augmentation be seen as voluntary plastic surgery is today: something that started as a necessity being exploited for the rich's vanity?

Is cybernetic augmentation the way forward? Or is gene centered biological manipulation the "better path"?

Realistically it is the only way we will ever be able to transcend this planet, but there are a million ways it can go wrong and only a couple ways it could go right.

Thats the ship of theseus problem though: at what point does a human stop being a human and start being a machine? 50% augmentation? 51%? 90%?

To answer that question, you really need to ask: what makes us human? Is it our mind? Our flesh? Our consciousness? Our "soul"?
