its like if you're doing your summer abroad at LSE or Cambridge, they're not going to be judging you like a refugee. Context matters, also your appearance matters. You don't have to over-dress, but don't look tacky, be fashionable and westernized. I highly doubt you'll encounter much of any racism there, all the British-Iranians I know are super loyal British citizens as well as have more of a Brit identity than Iranian/Persian. So historically they get along pretty great except for the Mullahs or the Socialists, they hate the UK for trying to do coups or whatever in Iran in 1953 and again in 1979. Just avoid talking politics for the most part, or try to be as subtle as possible.

Being Persian isn't the problem, its being American and being right-wing that is more likely to get your in trouble, or something social like sex or drugs or booze, on your semester abroad. I've actually been to London before. I have a cousin who married a British man in Harlow but I didn't get to meet that many people. I went during the 2012 Olympics. Went to cambridge too.
