unfortunately this.
People on here talk a big game about revolution and civil war and this or that but as long as the average person has basic necessities, shelter, food, warmth, they will be willing to give up pretty much everything else before they decide to revolt. Hell I can imagine a scenario where they basically abolish the US constitution, take away your first amendment, and people still wouldn't revolt en masse.
