Can /pol/ debunk the Afro-centric argument of black vikings without using any memes? I'm serious. I've showed this to some who used to laugh at the "we wuz" memes until they actually looked at the evidence. So there is this viking called Thorhall. He is a swarthy tall viking that ruled Vinland until his death. He most likely was an African.

Ok, where would the genes come from to make him swarthy? It's not like in the middle of no-where a swarthy viking would just pop out of nowhere. The genes to make someone darker is dominant so if there was one dark viking there would be many. There would either be a lot of tanned skin Scandinavians today, or none, and there is none so we can assume Thorhall wasn't just an exception. What we can assume is that he was foreign to Scandinavia and most likely did come from Africa.
So please actually try to debunk this argument. You guys always mock blacks for claiming they were kings but when they supply actual evidence you guys usually scoff at it and mock it with memes. If /pol/ can debunk this argument that even historians can't then I will be very impressed.

I can't even find anything on Thorhall on the link you provided. Am I stupid? Either way, as somebody with a rudimentary understanding of Nordic history during the viking age, I feel like I can fairly accurately theorize on this topic. As many people know, the word "viking" wasn't so much a title as it was an action. To go viking was to go across the sea to raid/trade with other peoples. They're scope of trading and raiding was impressively large, being as they've found statues of Buddha and Damascus steel that date back to the viking age in certain Nordic countries. This means that it's quite possible that northern traders could have come into contact with an African people. This means that it is very possible that Africans could have gone back with the vikings to their homeland and integrated into their culture. Now for the bits that I'm skeptical of. Were black vikings common? Heck no. If they existed at all, they left 0 evidence in the Nordic population of today. This is quite telling, being as that you can trace almost any ethnic group back several thousand years to their origins (Inuit and Indian people being traceable back to the Saami and ancient Mongolian tribes, Jews being traceable back to the Israelites of the bible, etc.). The Nordic culture of that era was also deeply superstitious, so I very much doubt they would even allow somebody who looked so radically different to ascend the hierarchy.
tl;dr Possible, but very unlikely. Even if they did exist, they were about as rare as they could possibly be.

A Viking is a person, typically a young person who is expelled from their village/tribe because there is no place for them in their society. They came from Scandinavia and the Baltic. Vikings are the losers of the society who joined a warband to get loot for themselves. Viking is just the Old Norse word for pirate.

This is entirely false. The Rus, for example, were the result of vikings assimilating into slavic tribes. Many vikings settled in Ireland and took local celtic wives. The were also many viking settlers in Essex. Norman French were what happened when Vikings emigrated and settled down in Northern France.
