People like this aren't actually liberals. They're right-wing extremists clinging to an extremely orthodox, secular, globalist, culturally imperialist ideology. It's very rare to find a real liberal these days since the modern left is honestly just an extremist organization masquerading as a reasonable mainstream political group. There's nowhere for actual liberals to really congregate since they'll simply be drowned out by mainstream extremists.

For the left, the Overton Window has shifted to the point that they feel entirely justified in forcing their will upon the planet as a whole. They feel no guilt whatsoever about eliminating their opponents and conquering whatever bastions remain that resist their ideology. This is why you literally cannot find a place to talk to "reasonable" liberals - they simply do not exist. Even just your casual left-leaning Democrat voter is readily espousing extremist views. It's not a particularly great step for them to dismiss anyone who disagrees with their ideology as subhuman. They might mask those feelings by calling their opponents ignorant or stupid, but in truth they do think that those who disagree are somehow second class citizens who should be ignored.

Modern leftists are essentially becoming "neoliberal"-lite, in varying degrees distilling all human interaction to economic exchanges in which humans must be ranked according to various economic parameters. This is fairly sociopathic in practice and translates to aggressive, dismissive, and abusive behavior when challenged.
