Alright, listen here swedecuck. Self defense in countries where it's illegal needs to be carefully pre-planned and prepared. The name of the game you're playing is "Heat of the moment." That means improvised weapons only. It can't look like you went out of your way to set up a defense. Several unassuming objects can be used extremely well against an unarmed attacker and can even out fight one armed with a knife. You'll need to have said objects scattered about the house, typically one to each room. That's only half of it, you'll need to know how to fight effectively with your chosen weapon

The best thing I can reccomend is a solid wood broomhandle. Oak if you can, otherwise any wood works. None of that plastic or tube metal garbage. The important part is that you won't be swinging it like a club. Fight with thrusts. When thrusting its important to imagine you're striking a target a foot BEHIND where you're aiming to ensure a solid transfer of force. Thrusts grant you long reach, and focuses all the force from both arms into a point much smaller than a fist. Hit a man in the eye and he'll probably lose it. Hit him in the diaphragm and he WILL get winded. Other good targets are the throat, the very top of the ribcage, and just below the ribcage. The last thing to know is that raw aggression is 90% of what it takes to win a melee fight. Keep thrusting until he stops moving or is unable to fight.

Last bit is a good defensive measure against knives. Cloth. Dueling cloaks existed for a reason. A towel is one of the best things you can have on hand if you're attacked with a knife. Leave some around in easily accessed locations.

Airguns (as opposed to weak airsoft replica's) are legal in my country and no restrictions on firepower or what so ever. They can get insanely powerful (pic related), so take some time to read into what your options are. I'm considering buying a bullpup that's potentially lethal from close range, which is good for home defense (living in a small space). But it must be done soon because restrictions are probably bound to happen.

Some countries also allow for historic gun ownership that are functoinal, including revolvers, but I haven't really looked into it. Would be better for actual gunfirepower though.

Not everyone has a good metal door.

Though that reminds me of the last apartment building I lived in. I think there actually was a bit of metal in the doors, plus the building itself requirement an electronic pass to get into the building from various entrances. In spite of that, about five different apartments were all robbed within the span of about an hour. A team of robbers actually had to use crow bars on both the top and bottom of the doors to help pry them open so as to steal stuff from inside.

The amount of security to be safe in some places is fucking insane.

Knife to carotid/jugular. It's lights out within 2 seconds. If you put your fingers to your neck, you will feel what seems like the vein/artery, but that's really muscle. Go between that and your wind-pipe (deep in there) and feel where the pulse is. Ideally, you need a lot of stabbing force to cut through the muscle I mentioned, so don't hold back.
