Seriously question;

I am an indie-game developer who was a General in the GamerGate wars.

I quit the fight when it was clear GamerGate was more about social issues than actually tackling corruption in the gaming industry (I have issues with both, but they are separate issues. The opposition was trying to corner GamerGate into the social aspect where they can be defeated and the corruption ignored. It worked).

I am at this point fully blacklasted, will never get a game published, will never get a job at a real company. Which is fine with me, I work independantly and don't want to be beholden to anyone.

So far, I've avoided any controversy (my studio and my personal life are separate, but it's just a few minutes of work to figure out who I really am).

I get extremely modest sales.

I am wondering if it's worth just going all-in and standing by my shit. Standing by GamerGate.

The negatives are drastic, especially as my career is starting to get going. The positives are.. I'd be one of the few people with balls actually standing up. That might get me some support

Yet I've always worried the support from GamerGate friends would be very tepid. Like they'd view me as trying to exploit them or just another tool.

I don't know. What does anon think? are you more or less likely to support a game/product if you find out the developers have supported (at least in large part) gamergate?
