They will feel alienated from the church as they did with benedict the xvi. It's either lose the church entirely, conform to the liberal catholics, or have the templars reenter the scene in to keep the church in line.

I truly hope that the patriarch is able to take up the throne but I also worry that they and Lutherans are going down the same road. Of course Lutherans and Orthodox much slower because of where the power is based, but nonetheless I think it will still happen in the next 50 years.

There is literally nothing wrong Vatican II.
It was a necessary council that hep reinvigorate the Church.

Trying to connect the council to trends such as acceptance of homosexuality and abortion is just conspiracy theory.
Those are just the results of modern society bleeding into the church. It would have happened with or without Vatican II.

There is a strong traditionalist culture within Catholicism. They eat fish on friday, attend extraordinary form mass, and fast all they want, because no one is stopping them. But they also recognize the authority of the See, because that's what makes a Catholic a Catholic.

All these anti-vatican, anti-Pope, "sedevacantists" who call themselves Catholic, shouldn't.

If you accept Christ's message, and believe you can be saved through him, but at the same time, reject the authority of the Church that he himself established, then there is already a word for you.
You're a "Protestant". You are "protesting" against the Church. Accept your label as just another one of the hundreds of groups throughout history who thought they were smarter than the successors of Peter.
