Our entire post Port-Arthur gun control stance was taken as a cheap grab for votes in the wake of a single shooting that was a statistical outlier. Martin's acquisition of those guns was down to an irresponsible gun shop owner selling guns to a verified, community-known tard with an IQ of 70.

From the viewpoint of statistics, law abiding gun owners do not commit crime in this country. Gun ownership is tightly regulated. If you have a psyche history and cannot prove yourself to be of sound judgement (difficult), you will not get a gun license. Even then, category H firearms (semi auto pistols) require an absolute shitload of paperwork to acquire, and the approval of your local pistol range. And you will NOT get that if you even remotely resemble a psycho, because those people want to protect their sport. Good luck going on rampage with a bolt action.

The only people of note recently who have been injured by legal gun owners are the type of people who drive hundreds of kilometers to protest in a hunting zone, despite the numerous warnings, and get hit with bird-shot while hiding in reeds at a duck hunting area well away from populated areas.
