A friend of mine who used to travel around south east asia and lived in malayasia told me that everyone in his family was afraid to admit their origin, so they went with canadian. My brother traveled up there with them and did the same.

When I'm traveling, I don't talk to anyone I don't have to, especially people on the street.

I've been all over Europe and always tell people where I'm from. Being American here is awesome because you're usually revered like a rare tiger or something (except in netherlands where they took all the worst parts of capitalism so they hate on murica because they think it must be worse than their shithole).
