Because your country got JEWED.com (tm).

In theory products and services are now more efficiently available ie your (((Economists))) are saying your country sucks at all the other jobs so you're left with these goy jobs to fill in. Everything else has been distributed to people who either do a better job than your country or can do it for a fraction of the price.

I used to work at a Wall St. company as the guy who busted trades. All the brokers were Executive VPs of Investments or some such twaddle. Even the brand new ones who only had their Daddy's account under management. They hated me. I hated them.

What a sickening life it was. Every job I apply to now in every industry has some stupid title with the word marketing thrown in somehow. All paper-pushing, nebulous, what-the-fuck-does-that-even-mean jobs that are the epitome of our meaningless modernity.

Shepherd, cobbler, wheelwright, iron monger, farmer, hardware store guy, gigolo, janitor all sound real good right about now.

Yeah that's quite the life you've carved out for yourself. Life is too short, son, for zeros and ones, test tubes, and virtual reality. Fresh air, hard work, the blend of the physical, intellectual, artistic and spiritual is the key to life. It's not retarded to forego a life of keeping up with binary shit, esoteric codes that will eventually outstrip everyone's capacity to keep up with it. That is called wisdom.

Don't get me wrong, you need to make a good living. It's the way of the world. But in 10-20 years hence, when you have an existential crisis sitting in your commander chair, you'll understand.

About 40% Jewish and a whole lot of rich WASPs with names like Preston and Buffy. Decent amount of Asians (usually the nicest and easiest to work with).

80% strivers (some OK people mixed in there, but mostly not)
20% normal people who just fell into the job. Or went where the money was but hated it and got out after a bit.

This was late 90s, early 00s. No one falls into a Wall St. job anymore (tightened hiring standards after tech bubble bursting and subsequent recession. Now need a master's from Wharton to schlep coffee or sit at front desk), so asshole/striver % is probably damn near 100.

But the thing is, I know all of these people, I know how damaged they all are, and I see everyone trying to puff themselves up, and it's exactly the same thing that these prostitutes we call politicians and policy makers do--"Oh yes, I support LGBT rights and I donate to my local abortion clinic and I have Master's in whatever." Everyone is just posturing how much of a faggot they are. And I see all the girls I knew in college, remembering them whoring themselves out at parties, or throwing up into the sink, their disgusting dorm rooms and so forth, and are any of these women married or having children? Are any of them happy? No they just have all these bullshit careers and making sure that my tax dollars and my grandparents tax dollars are going to Paco or Jamal or Abdul who are then making public transportation and suburban neighborhoods uninhabitable. There's no place left to live, then, because everything is shops and urban development and shit. It's just sad to see.

But it is leading the world down a horrible path and is one of the big reasons we are living in dystopian times. Technology is increasingly enslaving man, not serving it. It leaves people devoid of purpose and function. Longer lives, but unhappier ones.

Even if a critical mass of people become fed up with it, governments will always need to compete for resources/wage wars and technology gives them that advantage.

I don't even know if there is a good answer. All I can do is limit its incursion into my life as much as possible. You would just open an app on your phone and press a button and a car would come pick you up. The way things are going with driver less cars + all the religion of peace attacks all the time i doubt people will eve be ALLOWED to drive in the future. That's probably the plan to, limit peoples freedom of mobility under the guise if freedom.

If you want to have a secure future with work and income you either need to be the one building/designing the machines putting other people out of work or you need to have job that will be in demand and that is highly dynamic and to hard to automate. A stonemason for example, people want walls made out of natural stone for their garden and no two stone or garden is the same so that would be very hard for a robot to do. Now is that a comfy and well paying job? Well it depends on the market, at least its a job and a lot of the old people doing it are retiring now.

Or you can just get your own land and make your own food + sell what ever excess you have, having enough to pay utilities won't be impossible.

I assume the car detect the obstacle and brakes while also sending out a signal to other cars behind it also brake. The ''reaction'' speed of the car will be a lot faster then humans to.

The best humans might be better drivers the driverless car but most humans are shit so it will obviously be safer if they just got of the road completely.

I'm an extreme part-timer.

I trade stocks for the bulk of my income, and have one high-paying gig as an arbitrator settling securities disputes, but it's not consistent work. I hold a physical, low-paying job about 12 hours a week for consistent, supplemental $, free exercise and getting out with people.

I just try to make my own job by doing what I like, blending the physical and mental and what I have an aptitude for, and where I don't have to deal with HR cunts. I only work for a boss 12 hrs/week and I like and respect the man and barely use a computer (unavoidable for trading).

I'll probably never be rich, but I pull in about $75k a year on my own terms working about 25 hrs a week total, so I'm cool with it. Multiple income streams, so I'm never fully dependent on one aspect.

Would you trust a human to? Will people even want trucks that can be controlled by humans around?

Driverless trucks are coming soon but it won't be overnight, the trucks that exist now will be used until its economically unviable to use them anymore and then the new driverless trucks will take over.

that sounds cool. I'm moving back to my family's village in about a year or two when I have saved enough to buy property there. I can still commute to my current job, though it won't be that great, and was thinking of sliding into doing some sort of thing like that to supplement my income and eventually support me. Fruit trees seem like too much of a hassle, also would have too little land for it. I was considering getting into tree growing because I have a connection that can get me saplings of the new hybrid American chestnuts that is blight resistant, but again I wouldn't have enough property unless I saved up for longer

I also make bricks for a hobby and am a pretty good carver and woodworker.

If you understand agile development, you would also understand that there's no such position. What the agile movement actually argued for and what people actually do is the most amazing mismatch I've ever seen. But we can't do more conservative iterative styles like Spiral or RUP, because MUH BUZZWORDS.

What the scrum master is supposed to do is basically the busywork of making sure the process is going as it should. You maintain the burn-down charts, make sure the stand ups stay below 10 minutes, etc. You also make sure that the customers and developers are on the same page. It's a great thing for the wannabe future manager. Because you get to deal with beginner tasks for managers, without actually being one, so you become like an apprentice manager.

Anyway, Scrum master is a set of busywork SOMEONE has to do, so you should at least get a neat thing on your CV for it. That's the idea. But it's like 30-60 minutes per day if you take it seriously.

Depends who you ask. We have lots of depencies to lots of other teams in corp. If we do our own stuff, independently, then we go full agile, optimize and hit our targets well. Scrum also helps a lots in getting off the friction between team members, and how to evenly divide shit jobs and puzzle solvers.

But when we do shits with other team, its practically a knife fight. Any planning goes out of the door and its always escalating one, two departments over. We are practically at the point after two years, that we ask others do shits, and when its ready we test it and that is the moment we integrate it. Everything else fails miserably. Also, too much revolving door. Good people always leave, newbies annoy everybody all the time.
>>
