And even the rare people who can afford such often chooses a more moderate number of kids. It just makes everything easier. Also people nowadays lives up to 80 or so, yet your fertile years are over around 40-45. You have to have a career to gain retirement savings and so that you have something productive to do once you are done raising your kids, even if you do it full time and until they are in their early teens.

Many women also grave life outside the house and family life. Job gives you personal satisfaction, offers a new social community and it pays you, which means higher living standards for your family. I can say that I personally quite enjoy my job.

Being a stay at home mother nowadays is a great financial risk for a woman. Her living standards drops right away and the effects of jumping of the career wheel are very true and will probably have their effect on her salary and income in the future. Also, if our husband walks out, you are very much fucked.

Fact is marriage used to be for life. It used to be looked down upon for a husband to desert his wife. Women have been taught that keeping a home and raising children is a wasted life for decades. My wife, who is highly educated, regrets not working and staying home with our kids now that they are almost to their double digits.

Honestly, I think most women have been fed that they should feel fulfilled by their career but are evolutionary needs are to nest and raise kids. When they get older they realize their own needs (especially once having kids or seeing their friends have kids) and at some point they come to the self-realization that they've wasted their lives.

Find women that are almost out of their child rearing age and have no stable home. They get sperm donors and then join this highly revered (though falsely imo) group of single mothers.

It's sad. Living a life where you go on vacations, eat a fun places, and drive nice cars isn't fulfilling. My conversations with my parents friends (3 couples) are sad. They have all the toys but they see the value my parents have in adult children and grand children and they've told them and me that they regret forgoing having kids for the perceived greater life of toys and travel.

Personally, having kids has been a lot of work. But it's amazingly fulfilling and I can't wait to have grandchildren. Certainly beats buying a car more often or going on more trips or sleeping in every weekend morning.

I don't care what nationality or race you end up marrying, but I think it's good to get real about certain faces. There are lots of girls living in third world countries who'd marry someone from a first world country just to get out, get a citizenship and a better chance at life.
