I figured that being a Burgerclap and thus a Westerner, I would have more in common with the locals in Western Europe than Central/Eastern. I couldn't have been more wrong.
Despite the language barrier, between my extremely limited Czech and Magyar and their limited English, I found that the locals I met in bars/pubs in the Czech Republic and Hungary to be incredibly friendly and receptive to drink/mingle with even as an american. I visited Germany beforehand though, and found that even though I have pretty decent German (at least compared to he other languages) and the locals have nearly flawless English where I visited, thy are very standoffish and not especially down to earth people.
Can some Yurobros let me know if this is coincidence/just my own anecdotal evidence, or does it seem fairly representative of how Europe truly is?

All I can say is I never met a sympathetic german. Austrian? Yes. German speaking swiss? Yes. Normal german? No.

germanic culture is very much dont bother me and i won't bother you. Go east and its more "guests are family". I spent last summer in Georgia Caucasus and i loved it. Everyone is so fucking friendly is awkward.
