I don't know about any respectable young men dropping out to become forklift operators. I'm doing a warehousing course now and I certainly never had those options. Nor did any of the people in my class. There are actually a few women (landwhales) doing the course as well. If I had to describe my class it's about 75% bogans. 10% migrants who speak fuck all English and am terrified at the prospect of working with because they're going to get me killed with their inability to communicate. 10% big fat mothers who have plopped out 2+ kids and 5% misc oddballs like myself. None of these people have any tertiary under their belt.

I'm doing this because it pays decent and I need to get on my feet. It's this or doing tech support at a company my mate works at and I don't think I can cope with that shit.

Also: I know it's pie in the sky but once I get my shit together (ie: not in a fucking rooming house) and have enough stuff (car, computer rent in advance saved up) etc. I'll consider uni. I might also do open unis and just live somewhere cheap in the outer suburbs.

I'm a uni student currently in biochemistry. Was thinking about doing med or pharm school, but I'm trying to get my average up to switch to engineering because it seems like more of a sure thing.

Most of the answers here already are correct; the academic environment has become openly hostile to boys. I say boys too, because that's what a lot of early 20s men have become nowadays; weak and effeminate. That's aside the point though. Young women seem to get a lot more encouragement in my major, whereas young men are treated as competition by lab coordinators and TAs, leaving them immature and inexperienced. Many of the TAs in biology and chemistry are also female now, so I think they sometimes feel a need to "prove" themselves and flex their academic muscles by giving out low grades. Luckily, female students aren't an exception.

On the same note, having so many elementary school teachers being female certainly doesn't help men get ahead early in life.

Debt is another issue. I've gone out with several different female "athletes" at my school, some of whom were pretty fat. Women get academic and athletic scholarships for virtually nothing.

Women likely find it easy to get jobs with liberal arts degrees, making it less risky to pursue higher education in fields that aren't as in demand. Men risk a huge debt burden and need to make the most of their degrees, meaning that they have only the fields you mention to choose from as realistic options for their degrees. No men are going to school for criminology anymore.

I'm only 22 and Ive started a cleaning business. Barely any start up costs besides a vacuum, some cleaning products and insurance for the job. I make 60k last year before tax and work on average 25 hrs a week, zero stress. I just listen to audio books, eat while on the job, listen to music,./ etc. I got the jobs by basically leaving business cards and letters from there I got referrals. Made a website, used SEO, etc. My first job, i basically wrote an advertisement saying i would give a free detail clean and 10% of their current cleaning bill (they had to provide me 3 months worth of cleaning invoices to be eligible). Cleaners are always shitskin immigrants so they do a poor job. If you have good communication skills and put in effort you can easily out compete these guys.

The offices I clean at are dirt clean most of the time. One office, I get paid $120 to clean it twice a week. It takes no joke 15 mins per clean
I have zero stress and work after 5 o'clock when all the office workers leave. So I can finish the job anytime I want before 8 am for the next day which is super flexible for me. Plus I get weekends off so I don't mind.

I've also recently started a business where I go up to small businesses which offer and offer them website services. So far one customer (only been 2 weeks). Hairdresser paid me $400 to make a website for him. I just used a WordPress template. Didn't even take 4 hrs. People are dumb guys. Also you can outsource a lot of this shit to India and Southern Europe really.

It's piss easy these days to start these businesses and your competitor is low IQ immigrants so u can easily offer better services.

I think it might be worth noting that many people suffer in life due to a lack of viable philosophical framework or theory of civilisation.
Some people can be purely motivated by the drive to climb the social ladder and will simply gun for the highest paying+status position they can get "realistically".
Others need bigger motivations to play by the rules. From some perspectives, which can be quite viable, going to university and spending all your time working for other people just seems pointless, especially if you're just going to die a few decades down the line.
Other people can fall victim to the "follow your dream" poison that fools them into believing that they will have a secure life and a dream job by simply taking the right career steps, only to discover that the world is far more complicated than they have been led to believe and they have few if any practical skills nor much or any real understanding of the way the world works.

This problem is also greatly enhanced by the lack of father figures in children's lives, as men tend to be the more philosophical of the sexes.

A viable philosophical outlook, with an emphasis on practical skills and a strong understanding of the workings of civilisation seem to be the three things we all NEED to have in place in order to live and thrive with philosophy being the main foundation that shows us how to understand and apply the rest.

I've been working in retail for 6 years. I wanted to be a manager but I'd rather work for something more. Everyone I've seen in retail (ages 18-70) have been depressed as fuck. They're the worst people you could ever interact with. I honestly don't know how 30 year olds are fine with what they do in grocery stores. I work for a pop company and goto various stores a day so I see everyone.I honestly hate my retail co-workers more than customers. I can actually have somewhat of an intelligent conversation with customers. Retail employees are the worst and they're fine with being in that position. I don't understand it.

At least i'm honest, i'm pretty fucking stupid,i didn't like at all to study and i didn't liked at all the job my father did and tried to make me pick up.
I can't complain that i got here, BUT, i tried different jobs, did a lot of courses for forklift/kitchen/carpenter/electronic and the jobs who stressed me the most, also caused me health problems, so after 1 year of jumping from 1 job to the other i came back into this factory which i work in the assembly chain, turns out the only thing that tires you are other people who complain all day or night.
