Why is the US government so corrupt and inept that it's incapable of successfully completing any task whatsoever?
I understand why so many Americans have mistrust of Federal programs because it's spanned decades now, anything government puts its mind to fails miserably, but it hasn't always been this way. For example, the Interstate Highway was built for $511 billion in inflation-adjusted dollars, yet half a century later when $825 billion was invested into repairing and maintaining it, seemingly no actual repairs or maintenance were performed on it.
Every time a new tunnel, bridge or rail line is proposed, anywhere, work runs billions of dollars over budget and years behind schedule for relatively simple construction. Our famously massive military pays trillions of dollars for inferior and defective weapon systems, then launches long and nebulous occupation campaigns that are eventually abandoned without strategic goals. Our "free market" healthcare system requires three times as much taxpayer spending to maintain as most single payer systems. Rocketry, our pride and joy that planted out flag on the moon, has become a ridiculous boondoggle where now NASA's highest ambition is to launch a rocket for $2 billion that's markedly inferior to rockets private companies will be able to launch for $70 to 90 million in a shorter timeframe. We have the best funded public schooling system on Earth and every year it delivers increasing illiteracy and falling test scores.
What the fuck happened? Government corruption has obviously always existed, but this absolute failure of governance must be a recent phenomenon or the United States would never have become a superpower in the first place, it would have spent its entire history as a meandering wreck like Brazil or Venezuela.

Infrastructure is where we should be focusing, and historically has been one of the few projects that the state is capable of carrying out. The key is to focus on products that generate wealth- not simply renovating our existing infrastructure to be fancier.

Diversity is a big part of it. We have so many built-in inefficiencies like mandatory diversity quotas for "underrepresented" contractors. We simply accept these things as a natural part of government, even though they are completely artificial and don't exist in most countries.
This leads to corruption and inefficiency.
And for the "MUH FREE MARKET" people, this is a big issue in the corporate sector, too. Look at all the Silicon Valley firms making diversity hires as public relations moves. This isn't even something that the government necessarily demands (they have enough money and influence to get around that0 - this is just virtue-signaling SJW faggotry, which is now common in the private sector, too.

Diversity is an actual problem. The US is so divided it is crazy. The country used to be full of White Christians until we went all "DUDE DIVERSITY LOOOL" and now we have ethnic conflicts.
Also capitalism. When greedy businessmen buy out politicians then you can kiss your country goodbye. My dad was paid hundreds of thousands to sign bills to pass and I hate his guts for it. Now thanks to companies being able to do what they want we have immigrants taking our jobs, hispanics and blacks being placed into towns by our own government, sugar and high fructose corn syrup stuffed into our food, and more.
Every big city is full of fat minorities who are now representing the US. Fuck the scumbag politicians who gave away this country to the elite.
