Niger and Nigeria and named after the Niger river which runs trough those countries, not niggers.

Because they're named after the river, nigger, it's right there on the map. While the insult nigger itself has no correlation with the river, but stems from Latin I believe.

The word Nigger as an insult stems from American slavery I believe, while in Europe the word originated from the Latin word for black (as an Italian you should know that) and never really became an insult until recently. I'm not sure why it has become an insult though.

Any world used to describe 'something bad' ends up tainted. Euphamism after euphamism become dysphamisms.

If blacks want Nigger to go away, they should let whites use it too. Then they need to stop being something bad.

Can't say Negro, Colored Person, etc. Only the english word Black has stood up since it's such a common word used for things that aren't people. I have a 'black' pen etc. If it was just used to refer to people, black would be a dysphamism too.
