I've always thought that instead of a blank check FS program we should switch to a company based participation. For example. Say Kellogg agrees to give a percentage of their food for free, as well as grocery chains store and process said food, and transportation companies agree to transport for free. It should be very, very east to implement a healthy food program for EBT recipients. It would simply limit what can be purchased with EBT to basic staples and produce. No more frozen chicken nuggets, by a whole fresh chicken and some rice and broccoli instead, for the same cost. There are way too many fatties on EBT today. Even kids, who have been raised on EBT their entire lives, are fat already. That should never happen on the taxpayer's dime. I used to work at Kmart in the international district. When I was there everyone always assumed I was Russian because I was white.

While I was there I noticed all the other girls, (most single mothers) always had their nails professionally done, always. I kept wondering how they could afford to get their nails done when they were being paid the same amount as me and had kids to support with no other jobs, (that I'm aware of maybe some were hooking who knows). getting the kind of manicures they had would cost AT least $50 a month. Then I found out they were all on food stamps...they didn't have to pay for their own groceries...ever. Instead they could spend their extra money on luxury things like manicures......
