The rise in Islamic radicalism is a response to the cold-war era of meddling in the region in order to form and maintain proxies.

You can't actually reduce blowback by continuing to engage in the behavior that causes it.

Leaving them the fuck alone, and leaving their reformers to stay in their own nations rather then defecting would eventually solve the problem. Especially if the Saudis could be prevented from spreading Wahhabi rhetoric.

But military action just accelerates the cycle of tragedy and radicalization/revenge.

It doesn't matter how many free gibs will you give Afghans, they aren't going to shoot Taliban who come there and tell them "you'll help us or we'll burn your village down" if they didn't knew that NATO will do the same and that they do so on more consistent basis.
