I've said this before and I still think this.

The reason terrorism doesn't get as much popularity among radical islamist teenagerz in the Netherlands, is that being a total loser is difficult here.

If you look at the guys who committed these attacks, they are all drugged up idiots, who, in their drug addiction and petty crime, fell into isolation and were very susceptible to extremist ideas.

Except in the Netherlands, being a junkie is a social activity. You can sit in the coffee shop all day - and they do - and not fall into isolation. Then we also have a good system when it comes to mental health and social projects. Dutch society is much less fertile ground for extremism to catch root than for example Paris or London.

At the end of the day, it's our liberal drug laws that prevent most terrorist attacks. Nothing else.
