This is just the latest botch, because all of the policies are total ineffective garbage.

Has there ever been a more useless administration in the White House?

ITT no less than 100 autistic replies in defense of a giant meme with no actual political effect or savvy, maybe 25% of which will mention Hillary Clinton for some reason

They're going to fulfill our promises as a strong, forward-thinking nation, while the president and his administration sits on the sidelines pretending to be the martyrs of an industry better left in the 1800s.

>Muh billions

Yeah, who the fuck cares. Doing the right thing should always take precendence over money, which we have plenty of. The money the US is paying into the agreement is not even a good argument, since top world economists predict the returns from support of the agreement to be in the manner of trillions in economic value.

Trump just pulled us out of those rewards, just like Chi... no wait, just like North Kor... no wait - Just like SYRIA, there it is.

No shit, the Obama Admin shut it down without a viable energy-producing industry in place, forcing us to buy foreign energy or use inefficient green tech.
Bringing back coal should be a temporary solution until we have other means of producing reliable sufficient energy, the infrastructure to support it, and the ability to profit from it. Good thing the money we're not paying to China and India to "try" to improve their carbon emissions can go to our own direct improvements.

Natural gas is cheaper and more plentiful than coal, that's why coal is dying (in addition to all the pollution). Those jobs ain't coming back. You may as well be subsidizing the horse and buggy industry. It's gonna be pretty sad watching those communities slowly die over the next decade because they were too dumb/lazy/greedy to meet the changing reality of the world.

Reading comprehension.

My state's barrier islands lose, on average, 8 feet of coastline per year, which is an average of 5fpy more than before the industrial revolution. 50 years until the most ecologically diverse region of my state is uninhabitable by living things, 100 until completely underwater all because of some asinine nostalgia about non-renewable energy. There is literally no other reason, renewables are cheaper, cleaner, safer. Fuck, I'd take nuclear at this point if we could get rid of coal and natural gas.

The constiuents in those areas are screaming too. Unfortunately, you can't scream loud enough at spineless Replublicans and expect them to choose their country, or really anything, over their party.

Want to know what is genius about trump exiting the US from the Accords?? Now there are hundreds of thousands, no, millions of Americans rallying to protect the environment. For once, Americans are taking environmental protection into their own hands, not waiting for someone else to take care of it for them. We keep Americans working and now even more Americans are going to be working in order to protect the environment.

I've got to admit: I was feeling like exiting the Accords was a bad idea, but the unification or has brought about for Americans who want to protect the environment is BEAUTIFUL. Trump gets shit done and he doesn't need to worry about his "image" in order to do it.

Honestly my favorite thing about all of this is the complete disregard for the fact that if climate change really is an existential threat then the measures necessary to rectify the issue need to be harsh, quick, and lasting. This means that nations like China, India, and the other developing nations that contribute more than half of global emissions will have to suffer serious economic consequences to fix it. Mass shut downs of factories, running up their debt, etc.

The consequences for already developed nations to make these changes aren't nearly as detrimental. We already have a lot of the tech and capital to make it happen. It might not be the most market efficient thing to do but we would weather it way better than China or India.

To me this is just further proof that climate change is nothing more than an issue for political posturing.

It's really enraging if you think about it. Either climate change is as bad as they say it is and global leaders are too incompetent to address the problem and just create do nothing slush funds, OR it's fucking alarmism used to create do nothing slush funds.

Either way it pisses me off.
